The Kretchnif Chassidus Dynasty originated in what is today Romania. The first Rebbe of Kretchnif was Admor Meir Rosenbaum of Nadvorna-Kretchnif (d. 1908), a son of the Admor Mordechai Leifer of Nadvorna Chassidus. Rabbi Meir (Leifer) Rosenbaum had several sons, including the Admor Eliezer Zev Rosenbaum of Kretchnif (d. 1944), author of Raza d'Shabbos. Rabbi Eliezer Zev had several sons, including the Admor David Moshe Rosenbaum of Kretchnif (d. 1969). Rabbi David Moshe Rosenbaum had several sons, including the Admor Yisroel Nisan Rosenbaum of Kretchnif-Kiryat Gat (d. 2019).
Yeshivas Yeshuas Yisroel was named after Rabbi Yisroel Nisan Rosenbaum, who was the father of our Nasi, the Admor Yechezkel Shraga Rosenbaum.
Trebishan was one of the cities in Romania that Rabbi Meir (Leifer) Rosenbaum lived in before he moved to Kretchnif. Rabbi Meir's last name was Leifer and he changed it to Rosenbaum.
